On June 3rd, 2010 DISH Network has become the first and the only pay-TV provider in the U.S. to offer local channels in all of the local markets. DISH Network now offers local channels to its customers in 100% of the U.S. (compared to Directv which is currently offering local channels in 94% of the markets). New and existing customers of DISH Network will be able to enjoy their local channels anywhere in the country!

Customers residing in rural areas of the country who previously did not have local channels available to them, will now be able to enjoy their local news, weather and sports. Customers wishing to check which specific local channels are available in their area may go to www.dishnetwork.com/packages/local. Customers can enter their Zip Codes and click “Submit” and the DISH Network system will indicate which local channels and from which markets are available in that area. Customers who would also like to receive their local channels in HD can also check to see if their area is receiving local channels in HD. DISH Network currently provides local channels in HD in over 94% of the U.S. and that figure is expected to rise as well.

Customers ordering one of the basic American language packages will automatically receive their local channels courtesy of DISH Network. Customers ordering one of the qualified international language packages from DISH Network can add on their local channels for $5/month. Customers ordering one of the basic qualified language packages will receive their local channels automatically for $9.99/month.
